LEADERSHIP
Gary was born and raised in Sacramento, CA and moved to the Research Triangle Park area in 2017. He graduated from Sacramento State (B.A. 1996) and The Master’s Seminary (M.Div. 2000).
He pastored in California from 1998 to 2016 in a variety of churches and roles and is passionate about preaching, discipleship, leading, and engaging the city.

Gary is married to his wife, Tracy, and God has blessed them with 3 children. He enjoys eating, movies, basketball, soccer, football and recently pickleball. While he has begun cheering for local college sports, Gary is a die-hard Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors fan.

Krista
Children's Ministry
Dylan is a pastoral assistant at Rooted Church who assists in teaching youth and adult classes. He is planting a house Church in Tarboro, NC. He served as a youth and family Pastor at First Baptist Church of Tarboro for two and a half years. He is a student at Shepherds Theological Seminary working on a Masters of Arts in Christian Ministry. Before going into the ministry, he taught music for three years.
Krista is a full-time mom who is passionate about training up children in the way they should go. Krista is serving as an interim director of Rooted Kids.
Dylan and his wife Krista aspire to become missionaries to unreached people groups in the future. They have taken a few short-term mission trips to Nepal to support a local pastor who directs a network of churches and a Christian director of an anti-human trafficking organization. Dylan and Krista have two young children.
Shaun
Pastoral Resident
Shaun originally from Troy, NY. He completed high school and my undergraduate work in Connecticut (Ledyard High and UCONN). Shaun was honored to serve his country in the US Army which lead him to the state of Georgia. It is there that he met and fell in love with PJ, his beautiful wife of twenty five plus year. They moved to North Carolina and God blessed them with their beautiful little girl. He spent over twenty years in the industrial laundry world when God called him to go to seminary and start the path to becoming a pastor.
In May 2023, he graduated from Shepherds Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theology. They love to spend time in their community garden, all sports, going fishing, and spoiling their two Pity rescues. Shaun is excited and honored to join the Rooted Church family as a Pastoral Intern.

Lily is interested in supporting Rooted church in its mission to reach the cities of the RTP and beyond. She is studying mechanical engineering at NC state university and enjoys running long distances, swimming short distances, reading scripture, solving math problems, and talking about life over cups of coffee.

Brody grew up in North Carolina and is currently attending NC State University. NCSU, UNC, and other schools in the area provide a unique opportunity to reach the nations without leaving home, and it is his desire to make Christ known while working with his brothers and sisters in Christ.
